by Henrietta Hansen Baugher, Stacy Fox-Myers and Stacy's MomThe appliquéd blocks were originally part of tea towels that my great-grandmother, Henrietta Hansen Baugher, made sometime in the 1930's. When I inherited them some sixty years later, I couldn't imagine using them. First they were merely a part of the collection housed in my hope chest. Then I got brave and suggested to my mom that we make a wall hanging with them. I picked out the reproduction prints to compliment the original fabrics. Mom was brave enough to cut out the appliqués and I did some piecing. In the plain blocks, Mom quilted wheat stacks since my great-grandparents were Kansas wheat farmers.
