| The 2000 Piecemaker's Challenge was to create a quilt with a garden theme. Each quilter was to challenge themselves by using a technique they hadn't used before, and each quilt was to contain a critter. The creative results are below! | |
Jerelyn LeinweberI used "Quilt Patties" to make this project, which was hand-pieced and hand-quilted. I highly recommend the "Quilt Pattie" plastic templates.

Carolyn FioriA Fabled Flowers pattern by Kumiko Sudo was used for my garden. It reminded me of the fuschia garden my grandfather had on the Russian River in Duncan Mills, CA. We used to "pop" the buds when we went out to help feed the gold fish in the pond.

Cindy SmithHere is my poem to go with the quilt picture. Garden of Hidden Treasures In my garden there is water and light and shade from tall, tall trees; fireflies that glow at night, butterflies, birds and bees. In my garden there is life galore; there are frogs and cats and fish, spiders, katydids, lizards and more, sweet fairies to grant every wish. In my garden is a flowing stream; there are nests in lofty bowers. A magical place to rest and dream surrounded by beautiful flowers. Cindy Smith
