Challenge participants for 2006 were required to create a quilt from a
"Bag of Stuff" provided by another member. Quilt fabrics were picked
out with a particular season in mind, and the season chosen was communicated
to the maker. We could add fabric of our
own as we wished, but were to use as much from the original bag as possible.
Quilts were to be approximately 20 inches square. The finished quilts and
leftover bits of "stuff" went back to the original owner.

My challenge bag felt like summer and I began creating an Independence Day evening in the city. As I worked on the quilt, it started to feel more like winter and realized that this motif also worked for New Year's Eve!
